Grace Is Sufficient
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Today’s Word By Joel Osteen – 5th October 2026.

We are not promised that we’ll never feel pressured, overwhelmed, betrayed, or left out, but God promises you that there is grace for every difficulty. The apostle Paul was deeply troubled by what he called a thorn in his flesh, which some scholars think may have been an eye condition or illness. Three times he prayed, “God, take this difficulty away. I don’t like this. I’m uncomfortable.” But he couldn’t pray it away. God said, “Paul, My grace is sufficient for you.” God won’t let you go into that difficulty without giving you the grace and power to handle it. Now quit telling yourself, “I can’t take this anymore. I can’t raise these kids. I can’t deal with this sickness. These coworkers are driving me crazy.” You’re defeating yourself.

When you’re being pressured and troubled, don’t let it squeeze your faith out, squeeze your hope out, squeeze your dreams out. Turn it around and squeeze the doubt and discouragement out. Talk to yourself the right way: “I can handle this. I’m strong in the Lord. I can do all things through Christ.”

Prayer For Today

Father, thank You that You are the sovereign God who alone knows what is best for me. I’m not going to let a difficulty sour my life. I declare that Your grace is sufficient for me. Whether it ever changes or not, I declare that I can handle this and stay in victory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
