The Topic of MFM (Mountain Top Life) Daily Devotional for 7th June 2025 Is ”ARE YOU WILLING TO SUFFER FOR THE FAITH”.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR – 1 Kings 2:1-32, Acts 5:1-42, Psalm 125:1-5, Proverbs 16:25

FIRE SCRIPTUREPhilippians 1:27-30

27. Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
28. And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
29. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
30. Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

MEMORY VERSE2 Thessalonians 1:4-5

So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer.

MFM Daily Devotional Message Saturday 7th June 2025.

The Foxe’s Book of Martyrs gives a vivid and shocking account of several people who suffered and died for the Christian faith. Their death was as gruesome as their murderers were merciless. While many Christians will not die like Stephen and many of the other martyrs, a good number will suffer in one way or another for their faith. Is this position scriptural? Yes, it is. Persecution and martyrdom are parts of the package for victorious Christians.

One of the hallmarks of a true Christian is that he is willing to suffer, even die for the faith. Paul and Silas were typical examples of Christians who experienced Christian suffering. They were God’s ministers that brought the gospel of grace to the Bereans in Macedonia. The brethren in Thessalonica had to send them away by night because the unbelieving Jews were after their lives, yet, on arriving in Berea, they went straight to the synagogue to preach. They were neither deterred nor daunted by the persecution they suffered in Thessalonica.

Acts 5 presents another example of suffering for the faith. The Apostles were persecuted by the authorities because they wrought great works in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Their response to suffering is quite remarkable: “And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” (Acts 5:41-42). What is the secret? The Apostles had fire in their souls.

Beloved, do not get discouraged when persecution comes. Whether your persecution comes from your family, workplace, neighborhood, friends, or the church, you should demonstrate the right attitude towards it. As long as it is for righteousness’ sake, it will turn out for your good because by it, you have identified with Christ. Paul told Timothy that “All they that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12).

To suffer for righteousness’ sake is more glorious than we can know in this life. So, count it all joy if you are suffering for Christ’s sake now. Your reward shall be great in heaven!
