MFM Daily Devotional Message Tuesday 12th May 2026.

Lucifer, who was once a beautiful angel, became proud and sought to elevate himself above God. His desire to be like the Most High led to his rebellion and eventual fall from heaven. This act of rivalry with God resulted in Lucifer’s transformation into satan. Isaiah 14:12-15 says, “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”This famous declaration of Lucifer in Isaiah 14 is often referred to as the “I will” statements, where he declared his intent to ascend above God’s throne, to be like the Most High.

Here was a being, perfect in beauty and wisdom, until his pride led to his fall and deformation. Yes, that is what happens to a man who forgets his Maker and begins to take the glory for his achievements.He was not merely disobedient; he sought to take what rightfully belonged to God-the glory and authority of the Most High. The temptation to become like God is at the core of every human sin.

Adam and Eve’s fall in the garden began with the same desire: to “be like God” (Genesis 3:5). Lucifer’s story serves as a warning against trying to elevate ourselves to God’s level. This desire to be noticed, if left unchecked, can lead to spiritual death. It is only in humility that we can align ourselves with God’s will and give Him the glory He deserves.
