Daily Fountain 2022

The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 31st December 2024 Is “Sing Praises To The Lord”

Read: Psalm 98: 1-9(NKJV)

1 A Psalm. Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
2 The Lord has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.
3 He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.
5 Sing to the Lord with the harp, With the harp and the sound of a psalm,
6 With trumpets and the sound of a horn; Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.
7 Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell in it;
8 Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord,
9 For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity.

ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE  FOR 31ST DECEMBER 2024.

Psalm 98 is a call on humanity and all creation to celebrate with joyful songs, God’s reign and saving acts on behalf of His people, His self-revelation and righteousness to the nations (v.2), and His love and faithfulness in relation to His covenant to His people (v.3). The shout for joy is a jubilant cry (vv. 4, 6) to be raised in acknowledgement of God for His wonders and for the fact that He wiIl come someday to judge the peoples ofthe world “in righteousness and with equity'(v.9). Praise is the pathway of Joy.

When we sing and dance, and praise God in joy, we appreciate Him. He rejoices with us and is moved to do more for us. He loves to hear us make a joyful noise in songs and praise before Him. He dwells in the praises of His people. We praise Him for what He has done, what He is doing, and what we trust Him to do. We sing and dance with instruments of music, to the One that has given us life.

Brethren, there is no better time to show profound gratitude to God for the “marvellous things” He did for us through the year than this last day of the year. Let us also, as we round off the year, remind ourselves of the Lord’s imminent return to judge the earth and all peoples in righteousness and equity.

PRAYER: Lord, I am immensely grateful for all you did for me through this year. May I never cease from praising your holy name. Amen
