ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 30TH JUNE 2026.
In concluding the Book of Zephaniah, God gave a message of hope to His people. The concept of the remnant was brought out very clearly. This remnant referred to those who have separated themselves from popular but ungodly lifestyles and choices; those that have distinguished themselves from the general pool of the worldly and rebellious company.
According to Zephaniah, the remnant would not do iniquity or speak lies, neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth (vv. 12 & 13). This group of people would act as God’s ambassadors and God can entrust them with activities that would bring Him glory and honour. Beloved, you are a member of the remnant group on earth today, by virtue of your faith in Jesus Christ. The nature of God is in you; the nature that hates sinful practices but embraces righteousness and peace (1 John 3:10).
God is depending on you to bring out the truth in your immediate and distant environments. Wherever you find yourself, you are supposed to represent Jesus Christ, and you must live by the truth revealed in the Holy Scriptures. You are God’s chosen generation, a person of His own and peculiar treasure (1 Pet. 2:9). Therefore, live to honour Him. Even if all around you are opposed to the truth, you must stand for the Lord and be a symbol of His truth. As a member of the remnant group in this time, God depends on you and you cannot afford to disappoint Him.
PRAYER POINT: Lord, I receive grace to live faithfully unto you from today. Amen
