ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 20TH JUNE 2025.
Jesus’ genealogy as recorded in our text today points to the fact that He shared some ties with men. It also indicates that they knew His family record which was a hindrance to their believing in the genuineness of His Sonship. The only saving grace was the new identity He received after His baptism. God said “You are my beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”. What a wonderful revelation for a new identity!
People might have looked down on you. Your relatives, colleagues and acquaintances might have doubted your usefulness because they know every of your detail from birth. This is the same experience Jesus had until He was 30 years. However, His turnaround came after His baptism and when He prayed, the heavens were opened and His new identity was revealed.#
Today’s text draws us to pray the more for the fulfilment of God’s purpose for our lives.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the fulfilment of Your mandate in my life in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
