MAX LUCADO DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR TODAY 17TH OCTOBER 2024.
Legalism is a systematic process of defending self, explaining self, exalting self, and justifying self. Legalists are obsessed with self, not God. Legalism turns my opinion into your burden. There’s only room for one opinion, and guess who’s wrong?Spiritual life is not a human endeavor. It’s rooted in and orchestrated by the Holy Spirit. Every spiritual achievement is created and energized by God. The Bible says, “everyone who believes can have eternal life.” Not “everyone who achieves.” Not “everyone who agrees.” But “everyone who believes.”Listen. Salvation is God’s idea. It’s his business, his work, his expense. He offers it to whom he desires, when he desires. Our job in the process is to inform people, not to screen the people.About The Author.Max Lucado’s Daily Devotional for today is written by Pastor Max Lucado. Strategic Prayer Points & Biblical Intercession
- 1. Release from Legalism: Lord, strip away every layer of self-righteousness and legalistic burden from my heart, and help me to rely solely on Your finished work rather than my own efforts. (Galatians 2:16)
- 2. Heart of Evangelism: Father, remove my desire to judge or screen those who need the Gospel, and grant me the courage to simply share the invitation of salvation with everyone I encounter. (John 3:16)
- 3. Reliance on the Spirit: Holy Spirit, take full control of my spiritual walk today, ensuring that my actions are fueled by Your grace rather than my own human striving. (Zechariah 4:6)
Daily Prophetic Decree & Faith Affirmation
“I decree and declare that I am liberated from the prison of legalism; my life is anchored in the finished work of Christ, and I walk in the freedom of knowing that my salvation is a divine gift that cannot be earned by human effort.”
Actionable Faith Reflection & Practical Application
Identify one area of your life where you have been trying to 'perform' for God's approval and consciously surrender that burden to Him in prayer today. Choose one person you have felt hesitant to share the Gospel with and commit to offering them a simple, grace-filled invitation to experience God's love this week.
Community Discussion & Faith Reflection
