TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 10TH JUNE 2025
Your philosophy of life comprises of the values, standards, and principles that guide your daily habits and life in general. If you allow the world to mould your philosophy, chances are that you will stray away from God’s standards for success in life, irrespective of how successful or influential the world thinks of you. In Joshua 1:8, God gave Joshua the template for attaining “Good Success”.
Beloved, if there is good success, it also means that there is bad success. Now, I do not think there is anyone who wants to be associated with bad success, especially if you are a child of God. No one wants the kind of success that they will not enjoy. Everyone wants the success that will endure. So, if you allow the world to determine your values, it is tantamount to truncating your destiny.
This is the digital information age, and with the unitization of technology through smartphones and other hand-held, smart devices, the influence of social media and by consequence, its effects on people’s lives, is happening on a scale, faster than the human mind can imagine! Everything is begging for your attention – solicited and unsolicited, asking you to take them along with you on your journey of destiny. Even traditional outdoor advertising mediums – billboards and the likes, are designed to attract and keep your attention. All of these agencies, in one way or the other, are helping to curate your philosophy of life, if you allow them. So, be careful.
Any wonder why Paul in our scriptural text, used the term, “Beware”, because you must be deliberate and intentional about what you allow into your space. Whatever you allow into your heart through your ear and eye-gates, will determine the course of your life. As a believer, Christ is your source; He alone determines your worldview, philosophy and perspective on life. However, it is the enemy’s intention to spoil and rob you of that which you already have.
In order to avoid being influenced by the vain philosophies of the world’s system, you must set your heart on what is tried and tested, in this fast-failing world – it is the errorless, authoritative, infallible, and impregnable Word of God. Beloved, the Word is the only thing that is stable amidst all the instability in the world, and you can build your life on it. The Word of God works, irrespective of location. Build on your life on the Word of God.
