SCRIPTURE: John 8:44.
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Most times, people try to lie to gain favour or impress others, but it usually backfires eventually.

SEEDS OF DESTINY MESSAGE FOR TODAY 24TH MARCH 2026
Our anchor Scripture reveals that Satan is the father of lies. Throughout Scripture, it has been proven that nothing good comes from satan. Nothing good can come from falsehood. Falsehood is an enemy of destiny.
Therefore, whenever you see someone living a lie, know that they are doing it in accordance with the nature of their father, which is the devil. Falsehood is behind the destruction of many lives and destinies.
Below are Scriptural examples of those who were destroyed by their lies:
i. Lucifer
Lucifer is officially the father or the originator of lies. This can be confirmed in John 8:44
ii. Cain
After Cain killed his brother Abel, God asked him about his brother’s whereabouts.
Genesis 4:9 says, “And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother?” And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
In the above Scripture, Cain lied, and that became his doom. If he had said, “Lord, I am sorry,” maybe it would have been a different case. You see, most times, lies happen to cover up other evils.
That was what happened with Cain; this particular lie was a cover-up of the murder of his brother, Abel. Most people won’t lie unless there is something to cover up.
iii. Achan
When God told the children of Israel not to touch anything in the land of Jericho and beyond, Achan defied God in Joshua 7:16-21. The outcome of it was death. Denial of the truth is a major department of lies.
iv. Gehazi (2 Kings 5:22-27)
Gehazi was the servant of Prophet Elisha, who followed Naaman, the Captain of the Army of Syria, to collect the gift his master refused. Gehazi lied to take the gift from Naaman and lied again when he was caught.
Most times, lies go together with greed and fraud. Lies can not be absent in the affairs of greedy and fraudulent people. Also, lying is inevitable when people try to get money by ungodly means.
That was what we also saw in Achan, who said he saw a goodly Babylonish garment and became greedy and delighted to get it.
v. The young Amalekite, the one who claimed that he killed Saul.
The young Amalekite came to David in 2 Samuel 1:8-16 and said he was the one who killed Saul, but he was not the one who killed Saul.
That man died at the frequency of lying because he did not kill Saul. Saul killed himself, and how he died can be seen in 1 Samuel 31:3-6.
Beloved, most times, people try to lie to gain favour or impress others, but it usually backfires eventually. The young man was lying, thinking it was going to give him favour with David. He probably thought that David would say, “Oh! Thank you for killing my enemy”, but that was not the case. It backfired and led to his untimely death.
Remember this: Most times, people try to lie to gain favour or impress others, but it usually backfires eventually.

PRAYER: Father, I come before You today, and I ask that you deliver me from every spirit of falsehood. Help me not to fail, Lord Jesus’ Name.
