Read: 1 Corinthians 6:15-20

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

TEENS OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL 9TH JUNE 2025

When a young man or lady involves himself or herself in sexual immorality, he or she has abused God. Your body was given to you by God, and one day, you will give account of how you used it. As a child of God, from the moment you gave your life to Christ, your body became the temple of God – every part of it.

Fornication is a grave sin because it is a total abuse of the temple of God. For instance, if a special plate is reserved for a father in a home, and one of his nephews or nieces comes for the holidays and uses the plate to serve leftover food to the family dog, what do you think will happen when he finds out? I am sure he will be very angry and either leave the plate for the dog’s use or throw it away. It you engage in sexual activities outside marriage, you will be committing an offence just like the nephew or niece in the example above. My dear child, the act of fornication is a defilement of the temple of God, and anyone who defiles God’s temple will see His wrath.
