Read: Acts 13:2-4
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

As someone who was on the path to hell before Jesus saved me, I can relate to Apostle Paul’s life after his conversion. He gave himself to fasting and prayer consistently, seeking God’s guidance and strength for his newfound mission. In my case, I told God that I didn’t want to be an ordinary Christian, so I prayed and fasted regularly under the tutelage of my Father in the Lord, Pa Josiah Akindayomi.
Paul acknowledged his dependence on God and his willingness to be used as an instrument for spreading the gospel. His prayer life reflected his great transformation from being a persecutor of Christians to one of the most influential apostles a nd missionaries in history.
Similarly, Barnabas, who was Paul’s missionary partner, joined in prayer and fasting with the church in Antioch before he and Paul embarked on their mission trips. Their collective prayer and fasting demonstrated their reliance on God’s guidance and provision. My dear child, you cannot evangelise effectively without fervent prayers.
PRAYER POINT
Father, please raise effective end-time labourers in my generation to win souls for You.
