Open Heavens For Teens 11th June 2025 – Don’t Smoke

The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Wednesday 11th June 2025 Is “Don’t Smoke”

Read: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Memorise: 1 Corinthians 6:20

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Smoking is an addictive habit that is dangerous not only to the smoker but also to those around him or her. It is also a sin that God detests. You might think this is not true because it was not specifically mentioned in the Bible, but l can prove it to you.

Based on research, health practitioners have proven that cardiovascular diseases, cancer, et cetera, are associated with smoking cigarettes. Smoking also damages the blood vessels by making them grow narrower and thicker, which can lead to high blood pressure. Smoking cannabis, marijuana, or weed is even worse, as it often leads to psychiatric issues.

My dear child, God made you perfectly, and if you smoke, you will damage the body He gave you, which is a sin against Him. If, for instance, a fellow is meant to live for 90 years and he or she ends up living for 40 years because of the damage caused to his or her body as a result of smoking, such a person has shortened his or her lifespan, thereby reducing the degree of impact he or she was supposed to have on the earth.

KEY POINT:
Smoking will damage your health, and it is a sin against God.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1 Kings 8:1-66 Acts, 7:51-8:13

HYMN 43: Lead Us Heavenly Father, Lead Us

1 Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
O’er The World’s Tempestuous Sea;
Guard Us, Guide Us, Keep Us, Feed Us,
For We Have No Help But Thee,
Yet Possessing Every Blessing
If Our God Our Father Be.

2 Saviour, Breathe Forgiveness O’er Us;
All Our Weakness Thou Dost Know;
Thou Didst Tread This Earth Before Us,
Thou Didst Feel lts Keenest Woe;
Lone And Dreary, Faint And Weary,
Through The Desert Thou Didst Go.

3 Spirit Of Our God, Descending,
Fill Our Hearts With Heavenly Joy,
Love With Every Passion Blending,
Pleasure That Can Never Cloy;
Thus Provided, Pardoned, Guided,
Nothing Can Our Peace Destroy.
