MFM Daily Devotional Message Saturday 8th November 2025.
Apostle Paul boldly declared, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” His life carried proof of genuine discipleship and unwavering devotion to God. He was not a “do as I say, not as I do” leader; he lived his teachings. This made him a worthy model for believers both in his generation and today.
Timothy, his spiritual son, followed him wholeheartedly and grew into a strong and impactful minister. Barnabas, Silas and John Mark also witnessed the grace upon Paul and benefited from his leadership.
Many people today attribute failures in homes, churches, organisations, and nations solely to bad leadership. While bad leadership can destroy systems, bad followership is equally dangerous. Even the greatest leaders suffer when followers choose rebellion and disloyalty.
Moses was an excellent leader, but Aaron and Israel faltered in his brief absence. Elisha was a faithful servant of God, yet Gehazi chose greed and disobedience. Achan’s rebellion brought defeat to an entire nation. Even Jesus — the perfect Leader — had Judas, a follower who chose betrayal.
What went wrong? These individuals knew the rules, values, and expectations, yet chose disobedience. They lacked loyalty, humility, commitment, and discipline — attributes required of true followers.
A good follower:
- Supports and understands the leader’s vision (as long as it aligns with Scripture)
- Shows loyalty and commitment
- Prays for the leader and the mission
- Represents and protects the organisation faithfully
Beloved, before you aspire to lead, ask yourself: Am I a faithful follower?
Joshua, Elisha, Peter, James and John all followed well before they led greatly. May the Lord shape you into a faithful follower, that you may become a great leader in His kingdom, in Jesus’ Name.

Morning:
Father, make me a good follower, in the Name of Jesus.
Father, make me a great leader, in the Name of Jesus.
I receive grace to support and pray for my leaders, in the Name of Jesus.
Evening:
4. Father, make me a faithful and effective team player, in the Name of Jesus.
5. I refuse to waste divine opportunities like Achan, Gehazi and Judas, in the Name of Jesus.
6. Spirit of Gehazi, depart from my life, in the Name of Jesus.
7. I will not end like Judas; I rise from faithful followership into great leadership, in Jesus’ Name.
