Our words have weight. Our stories have significance. Proclaiming them holds power.

Romans 10:9 tells us that we must believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, AND we must openly acknowledge Him with our mouths. Believing in our hearts makes us righteous before God; confessing it with our mouths confirms our salvation. Saying it out loud makes it so!

Overcoming power is found in sharing our testimony – the story of God at work in our lives. And that overcoming power is not just for us; it is for the people who hear our stories and are captivated by the ways that Jesus Christ has taken up residence in our hearts and has enriched every aspect of our lives.

When we say it out loud, we welcome others into hurts that we have experienced, but more importantly, we point to a Healer that made us whole. We were dead in sin, but He has given us abundant life. We were lost and alone, but He adopted us into His family. He broke the chains of habits that diminished our lives.

And when we say it out loud, others are drawn to this lovely Light. They find reason to hope again, strength to fight another day, and tools to try once more. They find a Savior Whose love changes everything. Say it out loud. Testify!

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Rejoice that your chains are broken, the door to your past is shut, and that no one can pluck you out of your Father’s hand! Your story is beautiful because Jesus is in it.
