The Topic of Joel Osteen Devotional for 19th April 2026 Is “Don’t Lose Perspective ”

SCRIPTURE: Esther 3:5–6, NLT

When Haman saw that Mordecai would not bow down or show him respect, he was filled with rage. He had learned of Mordecai’s nationality, so he decided it was not enough to lay hands on Mordecai alone. Instead, he looked for a way to destroy all the Jews throughout the entire empire of Xerxes.

JOEL OSTEEN MESSAGE FOR TODAY 19TH APRIL 2026.

King Xerxes had promoted Haman to be the most powerful official in the Persian empire. Life was good for Haman. He had great authority, honor, and all the people would bow to him in respect…except for a Jewish exile named Mordecai. But instead of ignoring Mordecai, not paying any attention to him, Haman was so enraged by one man that it became all he focused on.

He couldn’t sleep at night, couldn’t enjoy his family, and couldn’t appreciate his position, because one man refused to bow down. He was so offended, so sour, bitter, and angry that he plotted to not only kill Mordecai but to kill all the Jews in the empire. Eventually, that bitterness led to him losing his position and his life.

If you allow an offense in and let it take root, as Haman did, it will cause you to lose perspective and blow things out of proportion. If you stay focused on it, you’ll start majoring on the minors and miss all the great things God has blessed you with. Let it go. Don’t let it limit your life.

PRAYER FOR TODAY – JOEL OSTEEN 19TH APRIL 2026.

Father, thank You that I have the power to stop allowing others to get me upset and lose my perspective. Thank You that I can stay on the high road and let You take care of other people’s comments and attitudes. I’ve made up my mind that I’m going to keep my joy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
