GOODNEWS DAILY TEACHING BY UEBERT ANGEL 24TH AUGUST 2026.
In many Christians’ journey, the zeal they once had for the things of God starts to ebb. I have personally met leaders and laymen alike who reached a point where all that was left burning in them were a few embers.
This is how I helped them. In today’s verse, “stir” is the Greek anazōpyréō, which means to rekindle or stir up zeal. Paul urged the younger minister to deliberately and persistently add firewood to the dying embers in his heart.
Maybe you’re like Timothy was: what you once felt is not what’s there today. I encourage you to take time out and hit the reset button on your spiritual walk. Start over. You have all the power to jump-start your spirit and get those flames raging once again.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, I accept responsibility for letting the fire in me ebb. By Your Holy Spirit, I will start afresh today and actively rekindle the fire to burn inside me again.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I am forged in fire. My very life is a life of fire and zeal for God! I shall never allow that fire to die in Jesus’ Name!
