Spiritual altars symbolise sacrifice, a place where something valuable is laid down to honour God.
In Old Testament times, altars were built for burnt offerings symbolising worship, repentance, and devotion.
Today, we are called to be living sacrifices (Romans 12:1). Your worship, gratitude, and time spent advancing God’s agenda move His heart, building an altar that provokes divine response.
Surrendering your comfort, pride, time, or resources expresses trust and reverence. King David said, “I will not offer to the Lord that which costs me nothing” (2 Samuel 24:24).
True altars demand meaningful sacrifice. Our daily obedience, choosing to forgive, serve, or give, is also a fragrant offering.
We are laying down the pieces of our flesh on the altar. Every act says, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I shall live my life as a living sacrifice, and I know fire from Heaven shall burn in my bones. The sacrifice I offer to God returns with blessing and breakthrough. Praise the Lord. Amen.
