DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
Speaking in defence of the truth—whether in spiritual, political, or social matters—has always required courage. Throughout history, men and women who boldly stood for truth often paid high prices, ranging from ostracism and denial of rights to banishment or even death.
One such example is Vibia Perpetua, a young Christian woman martyred at just twenty-two for firmly defending her faith against Roman persecution. While some chose courage, others, tragically, bowed under pressure and died in silence as cowards.
In today’s passage, Elihu, the youngest among Job’s circle, displayed admirable virtues.
He had listened patiently as Job’s three friends exhausted their arguments, accusing Job falsely. Job, on his part, declared his innocence and questioned God’s justice.
Elihu’s response was marked by:
Patience
Respect for elders
Courage
Clear understanding of truth and justice
His words were fair, firm, wise, and divinely inspired. So striking was his speech that neither Job nor his friends could respond.
In our time, God still expects believers to defend His truth boldly. We are called to uphold:
The authority of Scripture
The truth of the gospel
The reality of Christ’s redemption
The hope of heaven
as we challenge and correct the growing wave of falsehood in these end-times. To do this effectively, we must equip ourselves with:
Biblical knowledge
Power of the Holy Spirit
Holy zeal and boldness
The world may drift further from God’s truth, but the believer must stand firmer than ever.
