DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
In an African village, there once stood a big tree that served the people well. Birds and animals found a home in its branches and fed on its fruits. Its vast shadow sheltered the villagers, and it became a meeting point and market square. However, when development came and a modern highway had to be constructed, the tree was cut down. Electric poles were also erected along the road to bring light to the community. The beloved tree was gone, and both villagers and animals who had relied on it were disappointed.
This is a picture of what will happen when Babylon the Great falls. Her end will come suddenly, like a great millstone cast into the sea. Babylon’s government, influence, and seductive power will be destroyed. The worldly entertainment industry—music and all that fuels lustful passions—will be silenced. The sound of rejoicing, weddings, and celebrations will cease. Occult and mystical powers will lose their influence, and the blood of the saints slain by Babylon will be avenged.
The wicked systems of this world—political, commercial, cultural, and spiritual—will not last forever. God has decreed Babylon’s destruction, and those who cling to her will share in her doom. Rebellious men who reject the light of the gospel and delight in Babylon’s pleasures will face eternal damnation.
Therefore, examine your stand in God’s plan. If you have been living in compromise with Babylon, take heed of the Lord’s counsel today: “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)
