DAILY MANNA FOR TODAY
When the psalmist declared in Psalm 20:7–8 that “some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God,” he highlighted a profound truth — true victory belongs to those who rely on God and not on human strength or strategy. Time and again, the Israelites experienced miraculous victories, not because of superior weapons, but because they trusted in God’s divine protection and power.
Today, believers are still engaged in spiritual warfare — battles that cannot be fought with physical weapons. Our adversary, the devil, operates through his network of principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places. These unseen forces seek to weaken, distract, and destroy the faith of Christians.
However, God has not left us defenceless. He has equipped us with invincible spiritual armour — a complete set of divine protection designed to withstand every fiery dart of the enemy:
The Belt of Truth – Represents sincerity and integrity grounded in God’s Word. It holds every other piece of armour in place.
The Breastplate of Righteousness – Guards the heart against sin and corruption, enabling holy living.
The Gospel Shoes of Peace – Equip us to walk boldly in faith, spreading the message of reconciliation through Christ.
The Shield of Faith – Enables us to extinguish the fiery darts of doubt, temptation, and fear.
The Helmet of Salvation – Protects the mind from uncertainty and despair, reminding us of our eternal security in Christ.
The Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God) – The only offensive weapon in the armour, used to counter lies and attacks through the power of Scripture.
Finally, the Apostle Paul emphasizes unceasing prayer — the invisible force that keeps the entire armour effective. Through prayer, believers maintain connection with their Commander, receive divine strategies, and draw strength to remain steadfast even in the fiercest battles.
In a world filled with moral darkness, spiritual deception, and opposition to truth, our greatest security lies not in human wisdom but in the whole armour of God. With it, every believer can stand firm, fight courageously, and overcome victoriously.
