ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 3RD AUGUST 2026.
Paul commended the Thessalonian Church of imitating the apostles and Christ by responding to the Gospel in spite of affliction. By so doing, they became examples to other believers in Macedonia and Achaia (vv. 6-7).
They abandoned their idolatrous background to follow Christ and “to serve the living and true God” (v. 9). There was a total turnaround by the Thessalonians. In our Christian journey, may we emulate the Thessalonian Church by totally yielding ourselves to serving the Lord! Let us abandon anything that still encumbers us from totally serving the Lord in Spirit and in truth.
Let us have a heart check today and abandon every dumb idol in our lives which may be hindering us from following Christ and serving God wholeheartedly. May the Lord bless us as we take this important step!
PRAYER POINT: Lord Jesus, please help me to turn away from every wrong direction and to follow you fully.
