ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 28TH JULY 2026.
In your search for your enemies, please do not look far, look inwards. Today’s text reveals to us that man’s greatest enemies are people of his own household (vv. 5 & 6). We live in a world where wives arrange for their husbands to be kidnapped. Husbands kill their wives for money.
Siblings conspire against their blood brothers because of inheritance. Some fathers can no longer eat food prepared by their wives or children, for fear of being poisoned. Many preachers today work for the devil. Lady evangelists run baby factories where vulnerable girls are contracted to produce babies that are sold like common articles of commerce.
Wickedness has become normal while kindness is like an irregular occurrence (vv. 1-6). It is a wicked world where supposed protectors of rights are now promoters of evil (v. 3). Princes collude with spoilers of the system for evil gains. It is so shocking that today, finding a good man is as difficult as finding good fruits after harvest is over (v. 1). We therefore need the wisdom of God not to be victims of wickedness (Matt. 10:16).
PRAYER POINT: Lord, please give me wisdom to live and win in this wicked world. Amen!
