ANGLICAN COMMUNION DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY.

Anglican Communion Devotional
Daily Fountain 2022

The Topic of Daily Fountain Devotional for 22nd April 2024 Is ” Jesus Christ Is Our Eternal Life”

Read: 1 John 5:6-13 (NKJV)

  1. This is He who came by water and blood — Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.
  2. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
  3. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.
  4. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son.
  5. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.
  6. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
  7. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
  8. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may [continue to] believe in the name of the Son of God.

ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE  FOR 22ND APRIL 2024.

Eternal life cannot be duplicated or got from any earthly creature. In our earthly pilgrimage, when we replace the Christ-like life with a Christ-less life, we become lifeless. When this happens, we have the name of being alive but are really dead (Revelation 3: 1b). Jesus has life in Himself as the Originator of life, hence, only He can impart eternal life to another. “In Him was life and the life was the light of men“ (John 1: 4). The testimony of God of His Son is very authentic and this is the testimony that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

We must pause and think again: Secret societies, native doctors, occultism, protective charms, etc., have not offered any person eternal life, or even earthly life! Most men who involved in these lies have decayed in their graves today without hope of eternal life, and lost forever. Salvation is only in Jesus Christ our Saviour and now is the day of salvation. In our today’s text, John writes to us who believe in the name of the Son of God to know that we have eternal life and real assurance of salvation. Hence, there is no condemnation for us; we are freed from the law of sin and death. And as new creation, resurrection of our body is assured for Jesus has become our righteousness and redemption. We must fight the good fight of faith and take hold of eternal life so that when Christ who is our life appears, we will appear with Him in glory.

PRAYER: God, please help me to take hold of eternal life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
