ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 10TH AUGUST 2026.
In our text, Apostle Paul instructed the Thessalonian church on the need to walk and please the Lord in holiness. In view of their union with God, he made them know that it is the will of God that they be sanctified by separating themselves from profane things and being absolutely dedicated to God.
They were to abstain from sexual immorality and should know how to control their body in holiness and honour (vv. 3-4). Beloved, we are called unto a life of holiness, purity and righteousness in Christ. Therefore the need for us to be faithful to God in this age which is filled with compromise, cannot be over-emphasised. Christ is coming for a blameless and spotless church (Eph. 5:27) that will bring Him glory and honour.
As Christians, we must make every effort to do away with habits and lifestyles that are profane. Instead, we must live a life of sanctification, being sold out completely to God. This is the will of God for us. Let us shun every form of unrighteous and ungodly lifestyle and present our life as a living sacrifice unto God.
PRAYER: POINT Dear Father; I offer my life unto you as a sweet smelling savour; may it bring glory to you and you alone. Amen.
