ANGLICAN COMMUNION DEVOTIONAL OUTLINE FOR 21ST APRIL 2026.
In today’s Scripture, God told Israel that when they settled in their land, they should set apart for Him, all male firstborn, of man and animal, for they belonged to Him. The Scripture made provision for the redemption of firstborn of donkeys and firstborn of men among the sons of Israel. This, like the Passover, was to be a covenant between God and His chosen people, Israel.
When thei children asked the reason for this, they were to explain to them the great acts of God in Egypt on the first Passover night, where the first born (man and animal) of the Egyptians, were killed while God redeemed all the firstborns of the Israelites. God wants believers to honour Him as a demonstration of their trust in Him as their ultimate source and sustainer.
When we honour God, we experience amazing and wonderful testimonies of His faithfulness and greater blessings in our lives. Honour the Lord in every aspect of your Christian calling, including giving, and you will be amazed at how the Lord is ever faithful to His word. Remember that the Lord is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Heb. 13:5).
PRAYER POINT: Lord, I receive grace to obey your word and honour you with my substance, Amen.
