MFM Daily Devotional Message Tuesday 12th August 2025.
Worship is solely an act that is reserved for God. He is the Sovereign God, the Creator of heaven and earth and our Maker. He alone is worthy to receive our praise not any man or any idol. We are created to praise and worship Him according to Revelation 4:11. True worship honours and exalts God! There are true and untrue worshippers according to the scriptures.
Isaiah 29:13, tells us that they worship God with their mouths but their hearts were not right with God. This is nothing but pretense and hypocrisy. Such a worship is unacceptable before God. Who are the true worshippers? What qualifies them as such? Are there parameters to be a true worshipper? Can you claim that you are one of them? These are some of the questions we would try and answer in the next few days.
Worshipping God comes in two folds: “in spirit and in truth”, according to today’s fire scripture. It therefore means that you must be in the spirit to worship God sincerely. That is, you must have an established intimate relationship with God. When you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, the Spirit of God now dwells in you and you are divinely connected to God.
His Spirit represents His presence and power in you, and it is only through the Spirit that you can give a worthy and acceptable worship to God. Striving in the flesh amounts to nothing. The world may see you sing and shout, yet it is unacceptable before God. Your spirit, soul and body must be involved in worshipping Him. No wonder Romans 12:1 says our bodies are a “living sacrifice”, a service that is holy and acceptable to God.
As a true worshipper, the first condition is that you must be holy and righteous in your ways, that is, you must be an obedient child of God. That is one way to be true before God in worship. You cannot worship God in deception or pretense. He sees beyond your outward appearance and display. He sees the heart of men, our innermost being.

MORNING
- Father, purge me of every filthiness and make my worship worthy before Your throne of grace and mercy, in the name of Jesus.
- I shall not be a vain worshipper of Jehovah God, in the name of Jesus.
- Spirit of true worship, possess my life, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Fire of God, fine-tune my heart and my mouth and help me to give quality worship to God, in Jesus’ name.
- Power to be qualified to stand in the holy hills of God, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
- I shall not be a cast away from God’s presence, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, let my worship ascend unto Your throne as a sweet-smelling aroma, in the name of Jesus.
