“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.”
In today’s Bible reading, we see that the Apostles in the early Church clearly understood that God’s love is the bedrock of the Christian faith.
They lived in unity, shared their resources, and treated one another with genuine love and care. Whenever they gathered in homes to pray and study God’s word, they also broke bread together.
This act of fellowship strengthened their bond and created an atmosphere of love that attracted more people to the Church daily.
God’s children win souls not only by preaching but also by showing genuine compassion and generosity.
By the grace of God, you may have heard testimonies of people who attended some Christian programmes and decided to stay because they were shown kindness—through food, care, and other forms of support.
Many of them saw these gestures as God answering their prayers. As they continued attending, God’s word transformed their hearts, and today, some of them are missionaries spreading the love of Christ around the world.
My dear child, when you preach the gospel and also care for people’s needs with sincere compassion, they will know that you truly love them. Through your love, they will be drawn to your Father, the Almighty God.
