The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Tuesday 7th April 2026 Is “Some Prayers Will Not Be Answered”

BIBLE READING: 2 Samuel 12:16-23 (KJV)
Early in my Christian journey, my Father in the Lord, Pa Akindayomi, hinted that he would hand over the leadership of The Redeemed Christian Church of God to me. I refused strongly and embarked on a 14-day fast with my wife, asking God to change Pa Akindayomi’s mind.
For the next two weeks after we fasted, he didn’t mention it again, and we assumed that God had answered our prayers. Shortly after, however, Papa called me and informed me that the handover was drawing near. At that moment, I realised a profound truth that no matter how much a person prays or fasts, God retains the sovereign right to answer as He wills.
In today’s Bible reading, David fasted and prayed earnestly for his sick child to recover, yet the child died. Despite this sad event, David did not curse God, despair, or abandon his faith. Instead, he encouraged himself in the Lord and continued his assignment as a king.
My dear child, if you have prayed about a matter for so long and have not received the answer you expected, do not be discouraged. Continue to trust God, knowing that He sees the bigger picture and that all things will ultimately work together for your good (Romans 8:28).
