TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 6TH FEBRUARY 2025
Beloved, you can love everybody, but every person cannot be your friend. I love people but I choose my friends wisely. If you notice that the place you have been hanging around is influencing you badly, wisdom demands that you leave the place. You cannot be sitting around nasty people, who are always running you down and teaching you how to do the wrong things and still say you want to actualize the purpose of God, no, it won’t work.
The book of Psalms 1:1-3 (KJV) says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Your circle plays a major role in your life. There are some people you hang out with that will truncate your colourful destiny. Do not hang around anyone who is going to teach you how to go against the laid down principles of God’s Word. Do not hang around people that are not walking in the way of the Lord.
King Jehoshaphat was almost killed because he was hanging out with the wrong person. Abraham was hanging around his father’s house, but God had to call Abraham out from where he was for him to actualize his purpose. We learned from the book of Genesis 24:1-2 that by the time Abraham became old and well stricken in age, the Lord had blessed him in all things. In the book of Genesis 24:35 (KJV), Abraham’s servant said: “And the Lord hath blessed my master greatly; and he has become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.” Can you imagine if Abraham was still in his idol-worshipping background?
