TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 5TH APRIL 2023

When you are moving about, God’s headquarters is moving. When you are driving on the road, God’s headquarters is driving. That is the church! Everything is about Christ. As a matter of fact, everything in the bible is really telling us about Christ. Christ is the very essence of the whole bible. Christ is the message. Any other thing is not the message.

A lot of people are preaching but many are not preaching the gospel. You can tell the story of the bible, but it is not the gospel if it is not applied to Jesus.  If it does not have the elements of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus in it, you have not preached the gospel. The gospel is all about the redemptive works of Christ. It is not about man’s effort, it is about what Christ did through his death, burial, and resurrection.

Jesus said to the church in Laodicea: “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and need nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed,  … Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him…”(Revelation 3:17-20 KJV)

Jesus said, “I stand at the door, and knock”.  In other words, you are doing church, but I am not inside. You have shut me out. There are many places where Christ has been shut out. Wherever Christ is not being preached, He has been shut out. Wherever man’s efforts and man’s connections are preached, Christ has been shut out. Beloved, do not shut Him out of your life; acknowledge His goodness in your life on a daily basis. It is all about Jesus Christ.
