TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 9TH APRIL 2023
The fact that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again is the bedrock of the Christian faith. Thank God for Friday, but if there was no resurrection on Sunday, there would have been no difference between us and other religions. But thank God, Jesus arose. The tomb is empty. Hallelujah.
As we celebrate the resurrection today, I encourage you not to take this sacrifice lightly. As the songwriter wrote, we will never know how much it costs to see our sins on the cross. No single mind can comprehend the weight of this price. It then becomes a slap on the finished work of Calvary for anyone to attempt to pay the price again. Beloved, you cannot pay. You do not have the capacity to pay for your sin. So, simply accept this finished work and thank God for it.
All that God expects of us is to accept it and also share the good news with the world. Don’t just enjoy it alone, tell someone about the price that Jesus paid. Extend His love to someone today. This is very important.
Unfortunately, the church today is becoming lackadaisical when it comes to soul-winning. We are comfortable being saved while the world around us is going to hell. That was why someone said if this gospel is true (and it is), then the believers are the most wicked people around.
Why did he say this? He looked around and wondered, if heaven is real and hell is real and you have found the antidote to hell in Christ and you are not sharing it, that means you are happy watching your friends and colleagues and even family members go to hell. Think of it. How will you feel when you get to heaven and all those pals you have who you laughed with and worked with are in hell?
Beloved, the best gift we can give to God is to be intentional about soul winning. Pray for the lost souls and then share your faith with someone around you. Let the world know that heaven is real, and hell is real and the price for their salvation has been paid and as you do, you cause rejoicing in heaven because heaven rejoices over every soul that is saved
