TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 4TH SEPTEMBER 2025
Beloved, the Christian life is a life of joy unspeakable and full of glory. The Kingdom of God is “righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Romans 14:17). It is not anger. It is not fear. It is not condemnation or accusation. God desires that His children be the most joyful people on earth, people who wake up each morning with gratitude and rejoicing, not with sadness or guilt.
In Christ, sin has lost its power over you. Sin is not good news, it condemns, disgraces, and destroys. Sin ruins families, wrecks destinies, shortens lives, and brings shame. But here is the good news: the cure for sin is not in keeping the law. The Bible says you are not under the law but under grace. The law could not save you. Jesus fulfilled the law on your behalf. If you receive what He did for you, sin loses its dominion.
My assignment, and the assignment of every true preacher of the gospel is to point you to what Christ has already done, not to remind you of what you did wrong. You already know your failures. But the gospel is the announcement of Jesus’ finished work on your behalf. While you were still a sinner, lost in the miry clay, Christ died for you. And He still loves you today.
You don’t need faith to sin, sinners will always sin. But you need faith to believe that Jesus took your place and gave you His righteousness. That faith is what lifts you out of sin’s grip and gives you power to live for God.
So, don’t try harder to keep the law, receive God’s grace! Believe what Jesus has already done for you. The more you behold His grace, the more you will love Him, and the less room sin will have in your life.
Beloved, Grace does not make you sin more, it empowers you to sin less. It makes you love God more and live to honor Him.
