TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 3RD SEPTEMBER 2025

Beloved, concerning Jesus, the Word of God says: “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” (Philippians 2:6-8).

Submission was the lifestyle of Jesus. Though He was equal with God, He chose to humble Himself and surrender His will for the greater purpose of redemption. This same mindset is what God expects us to practice daily.

In marriage, if a husband and wife will learn to submit to one another, peace will reign, and their union will be preserved. Many divorces happen because both parties insist on proving who is right or wrong. True strength is not in winning arguments but in yielding for the sake of love.

In leadership, if a group leader is willing to suffer loss so that the group can succeed, there will be progress. If leaders in the body of Christ can choose humility over pride, the work of God will flourish. Jesus suffered wrong so that the big picture – the salvation of the world, would be achieved. Why then should ego destroy what God is building?

The kingdom principle is clear: the way up is the way down. Jesus humbled Himself before being exalted. Likewise, “submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7). True power flows through submission.
Beloved, will you yield your will for the sake of God’s will? Will you let go of self just to preserve the greater picture of God’s kingdom? God is looking for men and women who will live surrendered lives, who value His will above their pride.
