TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 24TH FEBRUARY 2025
In the book of Judges, Gideon had just drafted thirty-two thousand men to go to battle, but God stepped in somewhere along the line to prune down the number to prove a point. In verse 3 of chapter 7, God spoke to Gideon saying “…proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.”
The enemy is still introducing fear today through sight and sound. What you see and what you hear, opens the door to fear. And that is why God also gave us 365 ‘Fear Not’ in the Bible. In other words, God is saying to you, for every day this year, Fear not, despite what you see or hear. If you must experience victory in the battle of life, then firstly, realize that God is with you and has already won the battle for you. His word declares in 1 John 5:4 (KJV) “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
Child of God, you must understand that you are not ordinary, because you are born of God and there is something that you have inside of you that others do not have.
Secondly, let me charge you to be like those 300 men who took their lives in their hands and decided to confront their confrontations and challenge their challenges in battle. What kept them going was their courage. And so, if you must win, get ready to be courageous even in the face of defeat. Stop factoring on what you see for what you see is temporal and not eternal.
