TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 1ST AUGUST 2025

But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” — Deuteronomy 8:18 (KJV)

Beloved, let me ask you a sincere question today: Can God trust you to be a channel of His blessings? Can He rely on you to steward wealth for His purpose and not just for personal gain?

Unfortunately, for many, the vision of prosperity is tied to vanity. Some dream of returning to their village to build massive mansions, flaunt their wealth, and receive chieftaincy titles. Have you seen those houses – seven, ten, even twenty-bedroom mansions erected in places where no one lives? But who will live in those houses? Most times, the children for whom they are supposedly built have a completely different worldview, many are schooling or living abroad, and may never desire to return. Eventually, those grand houses fall into disrepair. It becomes a case of money wasted.

Beloved, life is not about how much you accumulate, but about how many lives you impact. One of the deepest truths God ever shared with me is this: within every congregation, no matter how small, are the people, the wisdom, the capacity, and the financial resources needed to fulfill the assignment God has given to that house. The issue is not the lack of resources, but the lack of willing channels.

Many believers pray for wealth, yet God cannot trust them with it. Why? Because their hearts are not aligned with His purpose. But if God opened your eyes for just a moment, you would be amazed at the resources He has already placed around you, waiting for someone He can trust to channel them rightly.

“Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:21). Money, as important as it is, is not the most valuable thing – obedience, purpose, and impact are greater. When Ruth chose God, she wasn’t chasing Boaz, property, or position; she chose alignment with God’s people and purpose. And in return, God added every other thing she could have hoped for.

So make a decision today: You will not live for yourself alone. You will be a faithful channel.
