TREM DEVOTIONAL FOR 13TH JULY 2025
Beloved, one of the most liberating truths you must grasp as a believer is this: no one can accuse you before God. Not even the devil.
In the past, you may have seen the devil as the accuser of the brethren who walks into heaven at will to condemn you before God, to get God to be mad at you. Yes, he did that to Job (Job 1: 6–12). But that was under the old order. Adam’s sin had granted Satan access. Man had no mediator, no advocate.
However, when Jesus came, died, and shed His blood, Satan lost his legal right to accuse you before God. “For Christ has not entered into holy places made with hands… but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.” – Hebrews 9:24
Jesus now stands in the Father’s presence on your behalf, continually interceding for you. He is your mediator (1 Timothy 2:5), your advocate, and your covering. Job longed for a “daysman”, someone to plead his case before God. You, child of God, now have that reality in Christ.
Romans 8:1 declares it boldly: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…” That means no guilt, no shame, and no accusations can stand against you in the court of heaven. God has justified you.
So, what does the devil do now? Since he’s been stripped of authority, he relies on deception and pressure. He whispers lies, stirs up guilt, and tries to convince you that God is mad at you. But don’t buy the lie! Stand firm in the finished work of Christ. Refuse to carry the burden of sin that Jesus already carried for you.
When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He meant that the price was paid in full. There’s no more debt to settle. No more case to answer. You’ve been discharged and acquitted. So, don’t let the devil plant any lie on you. Stand firm in the liberty of who you are in Christ Jesus.
