2025 TEENS VOLUME RHAPSODY OF REALITIES – MESSAGE.
Sometimes, Christians sing songs that say “We lift Jesus higher” or “We lift Him up” in worship and praise of the Lord, but that doesn’t make spiritual sense. Let’s take a closer look at what they mean when they sing such words.
First of all, the Lord Jesus is already seated in the most exalted place in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 1:20- 21). So, when you sing, “We lift Him up,” you have to ask yourself, where exactly are you trying to lift Him to? Is He not already at the highest point? The confusion also comes from a misunderstanding of the Lord Jesus’ words in John 12:32-33. When He said, “If I’m lifted up from the earth, I’ll draw all peoples to Myself,” He wasn’t referring to being exalted in praise.
He was talking about His death on the cross. Verse 33 says, “This He said, signifying by what death He should die.” So, when the Lord Jesus spoke about being “lifted up,” He was talking about His crucifixion, not His exaltation. By singing songs like “We lift Him up,” you might be unintentionally implying that Jesus should be crucified again—and that goes against the very essence of our faith.
The crucifixion was a one-time event that accomplished everything for our salvation. The Lord Jesus is already exalted, and we don’t need to call for Him to be lifted up again. It’s essential for you to study and know the Scriptures for yourself to gain a deeper understanding of God’s Word. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Studying the Word will help you know the right songs to sing
in worship, so you can praise the Lord in Spirit and in truth as He demands (John 4:24).

Dear Father, thank you for the insight and understanding that I receive from your Word. Thank you for flooding my spirit
with light to know and walk in the truth of your Word, rightly applying the Word to my life and circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
