2025 TEENS VOLUME RHAPSODY OF REALITIES – MESSAGE.
A common question arises: “How significant are the blessings or curses spoken by parents over their children?” According to Scripture, these words can carry profound weight and lasting impact. The Bible provides numerous examples where parental blessings or curses came to fruition. As a born-again believer, it’s crucial to recognize that God has destined you for a life filled with blessings. 1 Peter 3:9 affirms that we are called to inherit a blessing, reflecting God’s plan for your well-being, not harm. If your parents pronounced a curse over you before you accepted Christ, that curse holds no power over you now, as you belong to Jesus, and His blessing supersedes any curse.
However, maintaining peace with your parents remains essential. If reconciliation is challenging or impossible, seek guidance from your pastor, who can offer wisdom and direction. What if you were already born again when your parents spoke negative words or a curse? Typically, such words have no effect. But if you’ve strayed from God’s Word—disobeying or neglecting its teachings—you may become spiritually vulnerable, allowing harm to creep in. Stepping outside God’s protection is like breaching a safeguard.
Recall the Israelites in Egypt during the final plague. God instructed them to mark their doorposts with lamb’s blood, ensuring their safety. Similarly, living in alignment with God’s Word keeps you secure under His protection. Ecclesiastes 10:8 (NIV) warns, “Whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent,” indicating that disobedience can open doors to unintended consequences.
God desires you to live in harmony, especially with your parents. Ephesians 6:1–3, quoting Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16 (NIV), declares, “Honor your father and mother… that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you.” This commandment comes with a promise of blessing.

Heavenly Father, I choose to walk in the light of Your Word, honoring my parents and the leaders You’ve placed in my life. I embrace the peace and blessings that flow from living according to Your Word.
