To The Bible: Ephesians 3:17-19 NKJV

2025 TEENS VOLUME RHAPSODY OF REALITIES – MESSAGE.

In Ephesians 3, the Apostle Paul gives us a beautiful picture to help us grasp the depth of Jesus’ love. He
says we are to be rooted like a plant and grounded like a building—firm and secure in the love of Christ.

Why? So that we can begin to understand something far greater than human knowledge: the vastness of God’s love for us. What Paul is talking about isn’t just something we learn in our minds—it’s something we receive in our hearts.

The word translated “comprehend” in this passage is the Greek word “katalambano,” which means to seize, capture, or take hold of something until it becomes fully yours, a revelation that you live in or live by. It means to gain a deep understanding that makes the matter become your matter or the message your message.

Paul then prays that we would know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. At first, that might sound confusing—how can we know something that’s beyond knowing? But in the original Greek, the word used here is “Ginosko,” which means revelation knowledge or knowledge by impartation.

It’s not something you figure out. It’s something God shows you. It’s what the Lord Jesus meant when He said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32 NKJV). There’s another kind of knowledge called “Gnosis”— that’s knowledge you get from studying and learning facts.

But the love of Christ isn’t what you can just study or reason through. It’s too deep. Too high. Too wide. Too long. It has to be revealed to your spirit. And when it is, it changes everything. The Lord Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13 NKJV).

That’s exactly what He did, He took our place of sin and died in our place. And Romans 5:8 reminds us that “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” He didn’t wait for us to get it all together. He loved us first. Take a moment today and let that settle in your heart. You are loved with a love beyond limits and the realm of human comprehension.
