PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE’S SEEDS OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR 3RD SEPTEMBER 2024.

Character, godly character, is key to accessing the Blessing of God. Positive character is critical to living a prosperous life (Genesis 39:1-9).

The Scripture reveals that God blessed Daniel, Joseph and Esther on the grounds of their positive character.

So, character is very crucial to accessing the Blessing of God. That is why God is calling us into a lifestyle of character.

Now, there are pillars that stabilise character in one’s life. There are the things that make a person exists as a person of positive and quality character.

In our study today, we shall be looking at two pillars of character.

i. The fear of God.
The fear of God makes people depart from iniquity.

Proverbs 16:6 says,
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

You don’t beg people to avoid evil if they have the fear of God. You don’t beg people to do the right thing if they fear God. The absence of the fear of God is the reason for the reckless behaviour of people in our generation.

ii. The life of contentment.

1 Timothy 6:6 says,
But godliness with contentment is great gain.

The lifestyle of contentment is key to developing positive character. We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain that we are taking nothing out of it.

Contentment is the cure for covetousness. When people refuse to be satisfied in God, they can decide to get satisfaction or success from other sources at all cost. When people refuse to allow God to raise them, they struggle to raise themselves to the detriment of their destinies. Lack of contentment is the reason why armed robbers and ritual killers take the lives of other people.

Avoid the attitude of lack of contentment!

Remember this: The absence of the fear of God is the reason for the reckless behaviour of people in our generation.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to fear and reverence God; Let the fear of God guide all your conducts in life.
2. Be contented with what you have; avoid the temptation of covetousness.

PRAYER: Father, I ask for fresh baptism of Your fear and reverence on me. Deliver me from the trap of covetousness, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
