PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE’S SEEDS OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR 28TH MARCH 2022.

The God-first mentality is one prominent feature of great people. People who take God first cannot come last in life; and people who consider God last cannot come first in life. To seek God and His Kingdom first is to attract every treasure of life (Matthew 6:33). One major secret of Abraham was his God-first mentality. Abraham was addicted to God and His cause.

In Genesis 18:19, God Himself testified about Abraham saying: For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment… For many of us, it is other people that testify about us, here is God Himself testifying about Abraham. God said, “I know Abraham; he will not only keep my law but will also command his household to keep my law”.

It is very critical to know that God did not say that Abraham would command only his “family” to keep God’s law but his entire household. Household, in this context, implies everyone under Abraham’s employment. That is, anyone that had anything to do with Abraham was under a mandate to serve Abraham’s God.

No wonder he made such a great impact in his time. How else do we know that Abraham lived with the God-first mentality? Abraham had a daily schedule of communion with God (Genesis 19:27). The day would not break to meet Abraham without communing with God; rather, he must break the day by having a fellowship with God. No wonder he lived such a life of excellence and distinction (in his generation) which all of us envy today.

Remember this: People who take God first cannot come last in life; and people who consider God last cannot come first in life.
