PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE’S SEEDS OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR 22ND SEPTEMBER 2024.

In our previous study, we saw that vision is key to character development.

We also saw in Daniel 1:8, how Daniel’s vision affected his character positively:
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself, and this sense of purpose adjusted his character.

Now, having the vision for godly character involves being a person of conviction, not consensus.

A person of character lives by conviction and not by consensus. A person of character does not live by the general opinion and ideas of people.

Today, there are many people who don’t have the mind of their own; they live by the mind of the world system.

But a person of conviction says, “If everyone decides to go to hell, I will decide to go heaven. If everyone decides to collapse on the floor, I will stand on my feet.”

A person of conviction does not go with the vote of the majority; he stands even if it means to stand alone. He stands even if he has to stand alone, and to stand alone on the path of truth is to stand with God.

We live in a world where everyone is following the worldly system of doing things.

For example, if someone dresses in a particular kind of way, everyone begins to dress that way. If someone does her hair in a particular way, everyone would follow that trend. This is the lifestyle of those who live by consensus. But a person of conviction does not live that way.

To develop a godly character, you must be a person of conviction, not consensus.

Remember this: To develop a godly character, you must be a person of conviction, not consensus.
