THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Fasting intensifies spiritual power and authority.

It has been confirmed that in life everything can be amplified, improved or increased. Anything in your life that falls below a satisfactory level can be improved.

For instance, the voice of man can produce sound on its own. But if that sound is to be more audible and reach a wider range of audience, it can be amplified by electronic amplifiers and the use of a microphone.

In the same manner, prayer can be amplified to a more productive or effective level. In a world of escalating satanic wickedness, it is important to know the factors that enhance or amplify prayer effect for evidential results.

So, today, we shall be looking at some factors that enhance prayer effect.

1. Praying with fasting. Praying alone produces results, but when you add fasting to the prayer, it shifts it to another level (Matthew 17:21, Isaiah 58:6-8). Waiting upon the Lord is what we call fasting (Isaiah 40:31). When you pray with fasting, you amplify the results of your prayer.

Now, these are the two things to note about fasting.
a. Fasting intensifies spiritual power and authority and breaks enemy’s yokes and bondages (Isaiah 58:6-8).
b. Fasting amplifies desire and desperation. When you fast, you are letting God know that you are serious about what you are asking for (Jeremiah 29:13).

2. Praying in the Spirit. Praying in the language of the Spirit is an amplifier of prayer (Ephesians 6:18, Romans 8:26). The Holy Spirit helps our infirmities.

Now, what does praying in the Spirit do for us? How does it amplify prayer effect?
a. Praying in the spirit helps us to handle in prayer, issues that we are naturally unaware of. In the realm of the natural, you are not aware of the issues that you handle when you pray in the Spirit (Romans 8:26). You see, when you pray in English or in another understandable human language, you are limited by your understanding and perception. But when you pray in the Spirit, you cross those limits; you step into realms where you are dealing with issues you did not even know anything about. And that brings speedy answers to prayers because you are praying with specificity.
b. Praying in the spirit also helps us to pray in line with the will of God (Romans 8:27). When you are praying in tongues, the Holy Spirit helps you to make intercession according to the will of God, and when you pray according to the will of God, answers are guaranteed (1John 5:14-15).

1. Determine to participate in the 21 days Prayer and Fasting with spiritual hunger, expectation, and desperation.
2. Take out time consistently to pray abundantly in the Spirit.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for the privilege of knowing You. As I wait on You in fasting and prayer, open my eyes to deeper insights and revelations that will shift me into deeper dimensions of relationship with You, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
