The voice of the LORD twists mighty oaks and strips the forests bare. In his Temple everyone shouts, “Glory!”.
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY FRIDAY 13TH NOVEMBER 2026.
There’re certain things we do by the Holy Spirit that some may not understand. Yet, every prompting of the Spirit has divine purpose. Sometimes, under His inspiration, we suddenly shout, “Glory!” To the natural mind, it may seem unusual but it’s far more than an emotional outburst. It’s a Spirit-inspired response to the majesty and power of God. Psalm 29:9 unveils the significance of this; notice that it doesn’t say, “In His temple everyone speaks of glory,”
nor does it say they whisper, “Glory.” Rather, it says, “In His temple everyone shouts, ‘Glory!’” It’s the spontaneous declaration of those who have become conscious of God’s manifest presence and sovereign power.
The verses that follow reveal why this is so significant: “The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever. The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace”(Psalm 29:10-11 NIV). What an extraordinary progression! The Lord reigns over every flood, every circumstance, and every challenge of life. Therefore, when the Holy Spirit prompts your heart to shout, “Glory!” you’re responding in faith to His sovereign dominion and acknowledging His manifested power at work in your behalf.
Learn to recognise and respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Don’t ignore those moments when your spirit is stirred to give a “glory” shout. Yield to Him with faith and joy, knowing that He never leads you aimlessly. As you do, you’ll walk in the consciousness of His victory, His strength, and His abiding peace.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the privilege of walking in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. My heart is sensitive to His leading, and I respond with faith to every prompting. I rejoice in your sovereign power and gladly declare, even now, “Glory!” You reign forever and your victory, strength, and peace are manifested in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
