Lesson No: 20
OPENING PRAYER: Father, please breathe on me in Jesus‘ name.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The teacher should allow the assistant teacher to review the lesson for the previous week.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Numbers 13:27-31 (KJV)
27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
INTRODUCTION: Resourcefulness is the ability to deal creatively and effectively with challenges, finding innovative and practical solutions using the available resources. This means using what you have rather than what you would like to have to succeed. Operationally, it is defined as making wise use of what others would normally overlook and finding opportunities where others see limitations (1 Samuel 17:49). It is a skill that is not just helpful but essential for both personal and professional growth, especially in a world where change is constant and resources (such as man, money, materials and machines) are often limited.
LESSON AIM: To understand the concept of ‘Resourcefulness.’
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: Through this lesson, students should be able to:
a. Define Resourcefulness.
b. List the process of cultivating resourcefulness.
TEXT REVIEW: Numbers 13:27-31.
The Bible passage is an account of the report of the spies who went to check the land of Canaan.
A. They reported that the land flows with milk and honey; they even brought samples of the fruits of the land, V27.
B. They also brought a discouraging report that;

C. But Caleb, despite these discouraging reports, came up with a positive charge to the people;

LESSON OUTLINE 1: UNDERSTAND RESOURCEFULNESS
A. Resourcefulness requires a problem-solving mindset. This is an attitude that views problems as challenges to be solved rather than being insurmountable.
i. This mindset allows for proactive thinking and helps individuals take initiative (Numbers 13:30; Joshua 14:7-8).
ii. It entails being flexible enough to adapt or adjust quickly to new conditions and challenges (Daniel 1:11-13).
B. Resourceful persons think creatively. Like world-great innovators, they think outside the box, question the status quo, and often come up with innovative ways to solve problems or streamline processes (Exodus 31:2-5; Jeremiah 18:3-4).
C. The focus of resourceful persons is how to make the most of what is within reach rather than what is not available (Judges 15:14-16; Judges 3:31).
D. Staying committed to goals even when the path is rough is one of the qualities of a resourceful person (Luke 18:1-5).
E. Being resourceful helps individuals to grow by challenging the team to develop new skills and learn how to solve complex problems (Nehemiah 4:11-18). It drives innovation, increases efficiency (to accomplish more with fewer resources), and maintains a high level of productivity despite constraints (Matthew 25:19-28). It enhances leadership.

To become resourceful, you have to:
- Develop a positive mindset and believe that every problem has a solution (Mark 9:23).
- Seek knowledge and be open to new ideas (Proverbs 18:15).
- Practice adaptability by embracing change (Ruth 2:2, 17-18; 1 Corinthians 9:22).
- Leverage what you have by taking stock of your available resources and asking yourself how you can use them more effectively (Proverbs 31:16).
- Stay persistent. Keep trying different strategies until you find success. Do not give up (Genesis 26:15-22; Esther 4:16).
Above all, allow the Holy Spirit to help you (1 John 2:20, 27).
