The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Wednesday 10th July 2024 Is “You Are Beautiful”
Read: 1 Peter 3:3-4
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Memorise: Psalm 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
God sees you as a masterpiece. Therefore, the next time you look in the mirror, know that God doesn’t see any flaw in you. Do not let the opinion of other people define what you think about yourself. You are God’s perfect creation, and you are beautiful.
Your beauty should not only be defined by outward adornments such as making elaborate hairstyles or wearing different jewellery; rather, it should come from your inner self – the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. Today’s Bible reading warns Christian women not to follow the customs of some of the other women who spend hours making their hair, wearing makeup, and finding the perfect outfit.
God would rather see women work on becoming beautiful from the inside out. In other words, have a good character because that is the kind of beauty that lasts forever.
Beloved, if you get insulted because of how you look, or if you ever think that you are not beautiful enough, instead of trying to please others by wearing excessive makeup, remember God’s word in today’s memory verse and confess it.
