The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Sunday 8 Th October 2023 Is “Ready to Work?”
Read: Philippians 3:12-14
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Memorise: Philippians 3:13
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.
Many young people want to achieve greater heights, but they are not ready to put in the required level of diligence and hard work to get to Such positions and maintain them. When you ask God to enlarge your coast, you are asking for serious responsibilities that will require you to enlarge your capacity to deliver. I remember when I was still young in the ministry, I asked God to double my anointing., and he said I was asking for trouble because people would no longer let me rest: they would want me to lay hands on them every day. I thought this was a joke, but now, I see that God was right. If you are asking for a new level of success as a student, you must be ready to put in all the work. You can’t be reading at the normal time and playing or sleeping for several hours. You have to put in extra effort to come tops in your class. Are you really ready to work?
Another dimension to this is that if you want to be the best, you have to forget past achievements and gather capacity for your greater level.

HYMN 20 – Ho, My Comrades! See The Signal
- Ho, my comrades! see the signal
Waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing,
Victory is nigh!
“Hold the fort, for I am coming,”
Jesus signals still,
Wave the answer back to heaven,
“By Thy grace we will, “
- See the mighty host advancing
Satan leading on:
Mighty men around us falling,
Courage almost gone! - See the glorious banner waving!
Hear the trumpet blow!
In our Leader’s name we’ll triumph
Over ev’ry foe! - Fierce and long the battle rages,
But our help is near:
Onward comes our great commander,
Cheer, my comrades, cheer!
