The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Sunday 17th November 2024 Is “In His Name”
Read: Philippians 2:9-11
9. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Memorise: Philippians 2:10
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Today’s Bible reading tells us the efficacy of the greatest and most powerful name in history. In Acts 19:14-16, a demon told the sons of Sceva who wanted to act like true sons of God: “…Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Many years ago, during one of our special programmes, a man possessed with demons was in attendance, and he was brought to me for deliverance. I instructed him to sit, and he asked, “In whose name?” As soon as I said, “In Jesus’ name,” he immediately did as instructed. That is the power in the name of Jesus!
It is God’s desire that all His children should be able to cast out demons. The power to deliver is not for a selected few; however, to be able to conduct deliverance, a fellow must have an intimate knowledge of the Great Deliverer – the Lord Jesus Christ. No one casts out demons in his or her name; demons only bow to the name of Jesus. Do you know the power in that name?
KEY POINT: You can only cast out demons in the name of Jesus.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Ezekiel 35:1-36:38; James 1:1-18
HYMN 41, JESUS, MY LORD, MY GOD, MY ALL
1. Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All,
Hear Me, Blest Saviour, When I Call;
Hear Me, And From Thy Dwelling Place
Pour Down The Riches Of Thy Grace;
Refrain:
Jesus, My Lord, I Thee Adore;
Oh Make Me Love Thee More And More.
2. Jesus, Too Late I Thee Have Sought;
How Can I Love Thee As I Ought?
And How Extol Thy Matchless Fame,
The Glorious Beauty Of Thy Name? [Refrain]
3. Jesus, What Didst Thou Find In Me,
That Thou Hast Dealt So Lovingly?
How Great The Joy That Thou Hast Brought
So Far Exceeding Hope Or Thought! [Refrain]
4. Jesus, Of Thee Shall Be My Song,
To Thee My Heart And Soul Belong;
All That I Have Or Am Is Thine,
And Thou, Blest Saviour, Thou Art Mine. [Refrain]
