The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for SUNDAY 12TH NOVEMBER 2023 Is “Keep Your Heart”
Read: Proverbs 4:20-27
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Memorise: Matthew 12:35
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Keeping your heart is being careful of what you allow into your heart. The Bible says that “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45). If you do not think of positive things, you cannot speak positively. As a child of God, it is not all information that you should take in, neither should you consider every piece of advice. Be careful of what you allow into your heart.
The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7:
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee”.
What you think is who you are. If you always think of failure, you are bound to fail. If you associate with friends who use vulgar words often, you will most likely use those words. My dear child, when God is in your heart, you will think, act, and live right. Therefore, fill your heart with God’s word.
KEY POINT
Fill your heart with God’s word so that you can think like God.
BIBLE QUIZ:
Recite John 14:6
HYMN 3 – All To Jesus I Surrender
- All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
CHORUS
I surrender all.
I surrender all:
All to Thee,
my blessed saviour
I surrender all
- All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken.
Take me, Jesus, take me now. - All to Jesus I surrender.
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me. - All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!
