Open Heavens For Teens 9th March 2025 – Friends Stronger than Brothers

The Topic of Teenagers Open Heavens for Sunday 9th March 2025 Is “Friends Stronger than Brothers ”

Read: 1 Samuel 18:1-4 (KJV)

1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
2 And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father’s house.
3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.
4. And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.

Memorise: Proverbs 18:24

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Some friends can be closer to you than a brother. Such friends will challenge you to do more for God and will tell you the truth when other people are afraid to do so. Friends like these are people you can lean on when the chips are down.

The Holy Ghost descended on 120 people in Acts 2, but in Acts 3:1 the Bible focuses only on Peter and John as they went into the temple. The reason for this focus, I believe, is that they were friends who were part of Jesus’ inner circle. Three of them were in that circle – Peter, James, and John. Out of those three, Peter and John had a close relationship even before Jesus died.

My dear child, you need friends with whom you can have healthy competitions about things such as, who can pray the longest, who reads more Scriptures, who wins more souls, and so on. The relationship between Peter and John was strong, and it rested on their relationship with Jesus. You need friends whose link with you is majorly based on the link you both have with Jesus Christ.

Quiz:
In which gospel did Jesus say, “I call you no more servants but friends”?

KEY POINT:
Determine never to bring grief to your parents and your heavenly Father.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Numbers 11:24-13:33, Mark 14:22-52

HYMNAL:
Hymn 10 – Christian, seek not yet repose

1 ‘Christian! seek not yet repose,’
hear thy guardian angel say;
thou art in the midst of foes;
‘watch and pray.’

2 Principalities and powers,
mustering their unseen array,
wait for thy unguarded hours;
‘watch and pray.’

3 Gird thy heavenly armour on,
wear it ever night and day;
ambushed lies the evil one;
‘watch and pray.’

4 Hear the victors who o’ercame;
still they mark each warrior’s way;
all with one sweet voice exclaim,
‘watch and pray.’

5 Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
him thou lovest to obey;
hide within thy heart his word,
‘watch and pray.’

6 Watch, as if on that alone
hung the issue of the day;
pray, that help may be sent down;
‘watch and pray.’
